Lieut.(KIA) Adnan Saidi , MID, QGM, SM

Kent Ridge Park , Keranji War Cemetary , Singapore. Cemetary no. 385 engraved ' Adnan Saidi , Lieutenant.' Actually his body was never found. The Battle of Opium Hill had witnessed everything. One of the local who resided along Bukit Chandu, went to the battleground few days after the bloody battle, ' I saw the the body of malay soldiers along the field scattered and dismembered. At one of the barnyard, they were few bodies pile lying, one of them which the throat severely slithed several times, the uniform soaked with plenty of blood, by judging the badge at his uniform , he was officer that could be Adnan Saidi. Some record also mentioned his body then burn into ashes by the Japaneese.

Earlier, during the battle, after seriouly wounded and shot, Adnan went on fighting with the bare hand and rifle bayonetded attached. Unable to stand and lying prone to ground, he finally surrounded by the Jap, being dragged and hung to a tree, and fiercely boyoneted numerous time until death. All this gruesome and tragic moment witness by Corporal Yaacob in front of his very eyes. Yaacob still alive today.

Adnan already realised,situation getting untenable for his company. But his decision still bold, he yelled to his comrades , ' Let today be the evident of our loyalty to our code, we have to fight to our last breath, think about our family and love ones, think about our country and they really need our protection and sacrifice, remember our code , death before dishonor...'

Today, I doubt the spirit of this gallant warrior and honored soldier still lurked in our innermost strenght and zeal. I still hesitate that today people are willing to give their life to this beloved country . This only can be shown by the intagibles within human , the true understanding the purpose of life and compel obedience to God.

Last words from Lieutenant Adnan, probably will boost some our diluted spirit :

The History had proven that we had conquered the world, we are able to build an empire, able to build large ships, even bigger then Portuguese Flora d Le Mar, that is before we were conquered....Other people realize our capability, that's why they are scared, when we want to take back what is ours. Our Independence can give large impact to the world....Remember that the we were independence and sovereign and we are the one who said "Biar putih tulang jangan putih mata" (better die trying than losing, death before dishonor )

Purpose Of Life

This is the most inevitable question that will occur and ask as being a human. No matter what background we are, this lines will cross in any junction and journey of our life. The only matter is wheter we relunctant to find and know the real answer or seroiusly delve to search and seek the real purpose of life.

We may have many views, due to different opinion and thots. But I sternly sure it's all about the endstate that we wanted to achieve. As human we always seek for the happiness and peace of mind. But what define the real and truth of being happy? This momnet our mind need to have the rightly guided answer, not just merely feeling and thinking. Religion have the answer with tree vital dimensions : Purpose, Methode and Endstate (PME)

As we discuss earlier the Endstate is treached the truly happiness and success in life and hereafter. So this only can be achieved if what have the rightfully guided answer on the purpose and methode that we need to conduct in this life.

I alway like to refer 3 main purpose why human are created as mentioned in Holy Al- Quran . First is to devote ourself to Only God. Second we are here to be the vicegerent on earth and thirdly the life itself a realm of trial which determine who amongst human are the best in deeds. All this successness is the real happiness and the key to heaven.

Now i like to elobrate on the methode. The first pupose is to devote to only God which means we have to perform and obey His commandment and avoid His Forbiddens and sinerely accept of what He had destined. Secondly as vicegerent on earth , we need to use our wisdom and initial purpose of devotion to lead and administer the world for good and a better place. And lastly all this encompasess for the third purpose that life is trial where the need of patience and steadfastness in performing our responsiblity and duty as mention above.

This is only road to the most true happiness and succesness in life and hereafter. Life just doesnt end after our death and burial. The day of judgement will determine who amongst us is truly success a gain his prize of eternal happiness..the heavens.

8 Habits of the Heart

Don't get wrong with the author of this book, no , not Dr Covey. This catchy title were discovered afthe I dig at local bookshop, and i would like to introduce to you , Mr Clifton L. Taulbert. It is 1997 Penguin Book published, he is the author of previous renowned and acclaimed book ,Once Upon a Time When We were Colored.

He is the gentle scientist of relationship, families and community. His memorable lesson brings meaningfull guide in embracing the value thats builds strong families and community. He layed out eight basic principles he had learn from his elders :

1. Nurturing Attitude - a attitude which characterised by unselfish caring,supportiveness and a willingness o share time.

2. Dependability Responsibilty - Dependability is being there for others through all the times of their lives, a steady influence that makes tomorrow a welcome event

3. Responsibilty - means showing and encouraging a personal commitment to each task.

4. Friendship - is the habit that binds people together when they take pleasure in each other's company, listen, laugh, share good times and bad.

5. Brotherhood - is the habit that reaches beyond comfortable relationship to extend a welcome to those who may be different from yourself.

6. High Expectations - involve believing that other can be succesfull, telling them so and prising their accomplishment.

7. Courage - is standing up and doing the right thing, speaking out for others , and making commitment to excellence in the face of adversity or the absence of support.

8. Hope - is believing in tomorrow , because you have learn to see with your heart.

HABITS

What is habits ? What is the different with attitude or character , ? Experts said we are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then is not an act, but a habit. In my simpler define, I put habit as something you do without need to plan or told, It just act spontaneously. Its an auto pilot mode of act.

Habits will determine most of our behavior . Behavior is a function of our decision. And decision will decide our condition. This is how habits are connected. So how we create habits ? . Simpe, just by this equations :

Habits = Knowledge + Skill + Desire

Creating habits requires work in all 3 demensions. Knowledge gives an idea of what to do and why we do. But it doesnt ends there, we need to have skill so that we know how to do. But thats not all , unless we have desire or motivation move ourself because we want to do.

But Covey also reminded,it sometimes a painfull process. It has to work togeher with high , clear purpose and solid willingness. Just start tiny , and try work it out gradually. Im sure it brings some happiness to your life.
