What is habits ? What is the different with attitude or character , ? Experts said we are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then is not an act, but a habit. In my simpler define, I put habit as something you do without need to plan or told, It just act spontaneously. Its an auto pilot mode of act.
Habits will determine most of our behavior . Behavior is a function of our decision. And decision will decide our condition. This is how habits are connected. So how we create habits ? . Simpe, just by this equations :
Habits = Knowledge + Skill + Desire
Creating habits requires work in all 3 demensions. Knowledge gives an idea of what to do and why we do. But it doesnt ends there, we need to have skill so that we know how to do. But thats not all , unless we have desire or motivation move ourself because we want to do.
But Covey also reminded,it sometimes a painfull process. It has to work togeher with high , clear purpose and solid willingness. Just start tiny , and try work it out gradually. Im sure it brings some happiness to your life.
