Malam Pertemuan
Malam Pertemuan
Tidak mungkin sekali dilupa
malam itu,
Dalam payah lelap dan
nafas tidak sekata,
DiriMU hadir dalam
gelita pejamnya mata.
Pasti tidak sekali dilupa
janji ku malam itu :
'Tidak ku bukakan mata selagi nafas ini masih menyala'.
Sungguh tidak sekali dilupa
Dalam samar-samar gelap,
DiriMu menyahut :
'Bahawa kau di situ tanda AKU
ingin jemput kau pulang'.
Dalam mengalir linangan
ku terus dengari lagi sahutan MU:
Hiruplah baki nafas dengan sebaiknya,
Nafas itu akan makin lelah dan
matamu tidak akan lagi soroti fana dunia, dan tika itu,
AKU menantimu di Sana.

Corona Virus
Today we received news
differently, more worrying and frightening. The media today can depict all the
behind of the curtain, more often exaggerating. Lately we being feed with the gruesome
footages of new virus Novel Coronavirus (2019 N-Cov). The news on the virus
came quite gradual, from mild reports to escalating severe. The virus
originated and first outbreak in Wuhan, one of the China developed capital. So,
what the real truth about this deadly virus?
Coronavirus is large family of
virus that can cause deadly disease in mammals and birds. There are many kinds
of coronavirus but only few are known can affect human. The disease may range
from normal cold to Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS) which previously had
infected 8000 people and killed 800 in 2002-2003 outbreak. Another type of
coronavirus was MERS (Middle East Respiratory Syndrome occurred and in Saudi
Arabia which consider deadlier than SARS, which had 850 people died from the
disease. Coronavirus is transmitted thru
airborne droplets of an infected person fluids. The virus was believed first
transmitted from animal to human before it being spread from human to human.
The 201 N-Cov story begin and
initially transmitted from animal to human at Seafood Market Huanan at Wuhan.
It was reported the early people infected with the virus were most from
attending this market which now already in total shutdown. The signs of people
infected with this virus include fever, cough and breathing difficulty. Subsequently
more severe symptoms are including pneumonia and kidney failure.
Until now there is still no
specific cure for this virus but there still treatment available of many of its
symptoms. Even antibiotics are not effective because they only work on bacteria
but some hospitalized patients received antibiotics due to possibility of
bacteria co-infection. Being new coming virus, coronavirus still has no exact
vaccines available to cure and most probable won’t be for few years to come.
Wearing face masks is very
important, not just to avoid infected droplets but it more about to avoid the non
infected patients from touching the faces when its transmitted through their hand.
This is where the virus starts to develop and mutated into our lungs which can
cause serious pneumonia.
Who are susceptible to this
disease? Those young and strong immunity persons and having right amount
protection of antibody consider less risk but they need take preventives measures.
Those elder people with existing health problem are more vulnerable to this disease.
Even more likely to those contracting chronic disease and having body access
point like arteriovenous. How fast the body can respond to the virus determine
the subsequent condition of the person.
All government agencies in China now
work hand in hand to come with the best outcome and solution. Experts at all
level are gathered to ensure the pandemic will progress in right direction. The
agency is very meticulous in releasing the report on current situation and ensure
the world receive the right information. Hospitals are renovated to make more room available
for the patience. Those who critical, they are centralized at selected hospital
with update facilities.
Latest update on the virus, it was
reported no evidence show that the virus was already mutated. The virus is
developing based on the surrounding temperature, which enable the virus to
multiply. Therefore, this show different vicinity has different potential how the
virus develops and evolve.
The virus had alerted the global
and emergency had declared by WHO to warn all nations to stand together. Its not
China problem per se but to be effective
all nations are interdependent. Ironically, a Korean Film director Kim Sung-Soo
in his 2013 movie ‘The Flu’, may had depicted the Coronavirus at its worst.

'Rain of Steels' : The MLRS.
How to employ MLRS, in war at best ? Some army may consider it as strategic weapon, but MLRS also can plays many leathal roles in convensional setting as ' God of Battle' . Salient for the gunners to soundly advise this 'rain of steel' to manuever cmdr , especically in the diff phase of war and scheme of manuever (essential part in MAP). Here is how:
1. Close operations.
a. MLRS has advantage over its rocket range which can be acted as force protections.
b. At its best in perform counter fire, raid, SEAD and engage tgt beyond FLOT.
c. The suitable list of tgt in close fighting are personnel , light material, CP's and en Self Propelled arty.
d. Requires detail planning due to its large dispersion of sub ammunitions. Be very careful to assign tgt that are closer +/- 2000 to friendly troops.
2. Deep Operations
a. Suitable to allocate In Support like any other medium arty which providing extended fire in sp diff fmn.
b. Suited for long range High Payoff Tgts (HPT)with short dwelling timing.
c. Fire must be planned or schdeduled and not viable for immediate or oppurtunity tgts.
d. Must consider the rocket stockage level and tgt acquasition system available in the planning process.
3. Rear Operations
a. Rear op is less favor to employ MLRS bcoz of its area weapon. Providing point/area defence if it could fire anti aircraft missiles. (Debatable)
4. MRLS in offensive Op.
a. Movt to Contact- Support during movt and follow on once contact is made.Suited in supporting covering force and Flank Gd and must integrate MLRS with the column of march.
b. Attack - MLRS can deliver deep fires against en reserve, reinforcing fmn , counter fire, SEAD. Additionally with detail planning MLRS also best at sp raids and spoilling attack.
c. Exploitation and Persuit- involve rapid movt of MLRS and must adhere to positive clearence of fire procedures. Its executed by positioned MLRs units close to FLOT and ensure its well forward with manuver unit. Thorough planning of ammo resupply is imminient.
5. Defensive Operations
a. MLRS is effective when being allocated OP CON of covering Force and centralised comd under corps or divisional comdr to ensure its responsiviness.
b. In Def op, MLRS tgts can be included are counterfire , SEAD , Assy A, uncommitted forces and HPT's
c. MLRs could be positioned at different stagard distance from the FLOT iot overcome min range limits
d. MLRs should not be postioned on major avenue of approach to prevent en breakthrough and jeoperdize the sp unit.
Last and not least, consider the the types rockets available. It will determine the area saturation devastation we required. Unlike US MLRS M270 or M39, they have capability to fire guided (GMLRS) and extended range. ammunition.
As we can do wonder with our MLRS , remember en will do the same. Hopefully in future our system is uprgarded to more ultrafast signal processing and advanced mission software, the game will be more exciting.

brigade attack
I would like to share my 2cent of conducting attack at brigade level. It is not from the General mind , but I can speak out some of its general out line:
1. Recon plan must be spelled out in detail; its composition, assets, location and movt timing.
2. Direct Fire Sp Besed (DFSBs ) are imminient priority. The bases should be more than one loc, and pre determined at every phase of attack( H and L Hr), comply strictly to DFSB principles and basic considerstions.
3. Bde attack built up of batalion attack and all to achieve common endstate, not conduct as an isolate battle. Attack is optimised when mutual sp are well coordinated.
4 . Be realistic on your plan, relate accurately doctrine and tactic to ground conditions.
5. Securing FUpLD, often 2nd phase is abandon and neglected, who should conduct it.
6. Safety distance upon arty covering fire must be detail in time and space analysis to ensure tp safety.
7. Conunter Attack plan missed out in the overall plan. Cmdr need to tailor in detail its composition how rapid it can be executed.
8. Synchronization matrix not just detail on fire unit time schedule(air force ,mortar ,arty) but include authority of modification to ensure flexible fire plan.
9. Advice on arty comdr- determine your superimpose battery and request additional fire unit as require. Apply right weightage of fire ( Fire for Effect).
10.Bn comdr often ignore arty support, demand their right to get differnt type of arty fire(covering, harrasing, blinding, barrage, indication, smoke). Arty comdr and CO must sit together and discuss.
11. Consider enemy RAG and DAG how they impose threat to the operation. What is arty counter battery plan to overcome this.
12. Plan has to be explained in detail and specific. Example where is exact loc for reorg and how it will be conducted. Where is every battalion exploitation line.
13. Never neglect the Reserve. I x platoon of mechanize not viable to conduct counter attack. Think the weithtage and force scoring.
14. Order ought not to be simple. Order must confirm any ctitical issues.

leadership as i put
Leadership always boils down to yourself. Many theories and example out there you can emulate but when it go to you, you will hold own style in line with stipulated condition and context. How best you can bring other people to do what u want at the same time they like the thing they do. If you reach tis, means you can be call leaders.
More often leaders are built from. Most importantly thru their experienced, learning, exampler and passion doing good , excellent and effective job. They are constantly thinking how to be themself, simple yet effective and decisive. The gems embedded inside these leader are visionary and inspirational to their down line subordinate. The end of the day , he tremendously carried out his duties and responsibility and see the endstate he had in mind earlier.
As a Leader its impossible to neglect the 3 main elements, knowledge, skill and attitude. Knowledge is to know the purpose of the vision, skills for know how to execute and realising each goal and attitude to ensure the target always upward progress.
Leaders avoid rhetoric and fake setting up. Loud voice would attract many audience but doesnt mean they are effective. I had once challenged by other company commander saying, you cant be good commander if you have quiet personality. I accept his critism. But i like to make measure upon his remark, since bcome comdr same at his level, my company execute all the task given with positive outcome. I manage to lay all training programs plan, minimun cases soldiers outlawing and disciplinary problems. So I tell him, whats is the different having being loud leader and quiet leader by using those measurement. This had quiet him for sometimes.
